Pussy Footin’

Pussy Footin’ is a series of four hand rolled coiled ceramic vessels challenging the boundaries between functional and decorative. Each vessel, while seemingly functional, invites viewers to reconsider the role of utility in art. Elevated on playful leggy plinths, these pieces celebrate their status as art objects while evoking a sense of history and purpose. The contrast between their antiquated forms and whimsical bases creates a playful dialogue between the past and the present. In celebrating the interplay of the archaic and the playful, Mali encourages a broader appreciation for all forms of art in our everyday lives.
